I am aware of the black under my eye being from tiredness but as far as I can tell I have always had a very thick lower eyelid. It is most obvious when I smile and I was wondering if there are any ways of lessening their size without surgery?
Answer: A Tiny Drop Of Botox Along With Filler Treatment Of The Hollows Below The Eyes May Lessen Lower Eyelid Thickness Muscular hypetrophy of the muscles along the lower portion of the orbit may be lessened by the instilaltion of a tiny droplet of Botox (or Dysport or Xeomin). This may help to thin the belly of the muscle a bit making it less protruding in appearance. The addition of a filler to the hollow below the muscle can further camouflage the appearance of the thickened lower lid. Consultation with a board certified core aesthetic physician with experience and expertise in nonsurgically treating the delicate tissues around the eyes is a must.

Answer: Thick lid you have a normal looking eyelid. The muscle that is directly under the eyelids, called the orbicularis is thick, and this is what you notice. There is a surgery to thin this out, but we don't do it often as it can weaken the lid. A good alternative is to fill in below the muscle so that you don't notice it as much. It will also make the tear trough area look lighter.

Answer: Filler Injections You can consider filler injections to the tear trough to lessen the transition from your eyelids into your cheek. This can help to mask the thickness of your lower lids (which is actually a sign of youth from a strong eyelid muscle). Good luck!

Answer: Is there any way to lessen the thickness of my lower eyelid There is a new procedure published in the October 2013 edition of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery that is much less invasive and is called lateral access only recontouring of the lower lid and from your picture you would be an ideal candidate for the procedure if your physical exam correlates with the picture. I developed the procedure and it is published under my name. It avoids an incision in front of the lid or behind the lid and uses only a tiny incision out to the side. There is no transgression of the functional portions of the central eyelid and recovery is rapid. Otherwise there is no non surgical procedure that will reduce the thickness of your lid although a series of skin tightening lasers may tighten the skin and improve the contour.

Answer: Is there any way to lessen the thickness of my lower eye lid without surgery? (photos) There is no Non Surgical way to lessen the thickness of your Lower Eyelid. It may be possible to make it look less obvious by correcting the 'hollows' ( areas of volume deficit) around it using Fillers. You should see a Plastic Surgeon who can assess your eye area to see if you are a candidateAll the best
