Can a tummy tuck revision be an option to fix uneven tummy tuck and indented vertical scar? (Photos)

Question

43 years old active healthy women. 5 feet 128 pounds. Tummy tuck with muscle repaire. Is it’s normal two years after my tummy tuck for the left side of my stomach to still stick out more than the right. I also had a dog ear removed, liposuction left side and a revision of the vertical incision about a year later , but it still looks uneven and the indented incision doesn’t seem improved. I was wondering if there are options to correct or improve it.on

I have seen this before. Two years post tummy tuck, indented vertical scar, eight months of laser and microneedling, none of it had moved the indent. The dermis is likely glued to the deep fascia in one focal band along your scar. The skin cannot not lift away from the deeper plane. That tether is casting a shadow.

Now that your skin is not in as much tension as during your tummy tuck, a scar revision will result in nicer thinner scars.

The uneven contour piece of your question is a separate problem. It may be more fat on one side or more muscle laxity. The first can be addressed with liposuction, the later would need muscle plication.

You got the worst of both worlds: a vertical scar and a high horizontal scar. Most people get the high scar without a vertical scar, and lucky ones get a low horizontal scar with a small vertical scar.  You'll need liposuction and a revision tummy tuck to lower both scars substantially. Your result would be stellar.
