I am 22 and 6 months ago I had a 7 mm medpor implant with wings placed through an incision under the chin. I regretted having it right way and asked my surgeon to remove it after 4 weeks. However, he refused and convinced me that I would get used to it. He claimed that there would be no harm in waiting and that, whenever removed, the skin would just shrink back down and that the tissue ingrowth would be no problem. Is this true? I still want to have it removed but I am afraid of the risks.
