Hair transplant 4.5 months no growth. Is this something I should worry about? (Photo)

faiju04 -- this seems to be a common question on here. The short answer is don't worry. It really takes a full 12 months (and rarely up to 15 months) to know what the final result is going to be after a hair transplant. Its a slow process. At the 4-5 month mark, some of the hairs are just starting to come out of the resting phase and entering the growth phase, but other follicles will take longer. This process will continue through 12 months, but since this happens asynchronously, meaning the follicles are all entering the anagen or growth phase at different times, there are many months where no significant change is seen. I always counsel patients to just be patient and continue doing their prescribed hair loss prevention regimen. Its a good idea to get PRPs about every 3 months during this time.

At 4.5 months post hair transplant, it's not unusual to have limited visible growth. Hair growth after a transplant follows a gradual pattern. Initial shedding is common, and visible growth typically starts around months 4 to 6. Patience is crucial during this phase.

Ensure you're following post-transplant care instructions provided by your surgeon. Maintain a healthy lifestyle, avoid stressors, and adhere to any prescribed medications. If you have concerns, it's reasonable to communicate with your transplant specialist, but keep in mind that results can vary. Give the process more time before considering any major actions.
