Thank you for your question. Your breast implants appear to be rather high, which is completely normal at only 3 days post-op. You are still very early in your healing process. It can take several weeks for the implants to settle and each implant often settles at different rates. The appearance of your breasts will change gradually in the next few months. Once your implants begin to settle, your breasts will round out. If you are having serious concerns about your recovery process. I recommend reaching out to your surgeon as he or she is best equipped to answer questions regarding your particular case. Best of luck with your recovery!
Normal healing can take several months. Early post op breast implants can appear square, full on top, etc until they settle.Close follow up with your plastic surgeon is recommended during this time for instructions.
Thanks for your question. It takes several months for the swelling to settle after a breast augmentation. Over this period, they drop and settle into place. I would wait until 3 months have passed before assessing the final outcome. I would suggest making an appointment with your surgeon at that stage for a review.
Eryn. I appreciate your concern, however your early results appear completely appropriate and your implants need to settle in and your body adapt to the implants. The overlying skin and muscle needs to relax and allow this process to happen over time. Try to stay patient and positive and follow up with your plastic surgeon. Good luck.
Hi. Your implants look to be in good position and you have a nice initial result. The breast will tend to gradually soften as you get farther out from surgery and then look more natural. Your surgeon should be able to help guide you through this process. Good luck and take care,Dr. Howell
Thank you for your question. This is all normal at 3 days post op. It can take 3-6 months before the implants have fully dropped. If the implant is smooth, you will need to massage them 3-5 times a day to help the implants settle into their natural position. If after this amount of time, speak with your board certified plastic surgeon about your concern. Best of luck in your recovery.
you are very early in the healing phase. It takes 4-6 months for the implants to drop and your breast to round out. Make sure you follow up with your surgeon.
I tell all my patients that, on awakening from surgery, they will see that their implants are hard, high, and far apart. Your implants will drop over the next few months, and the breasts will soften. Keep in touch with your surgeon. All the best.
Healing after Breast AugmentationSHAPE AND CONTOURThe final shape of your breasts will start to look its best approximately three (3) months after surgery. It takes time for the skin and muscle to stretch and relax around the new implant. The breast will often look higher, firmer, and “less natural” in the first three (3) months. It can take up to a year to see your final result.
Congratulations on your surgery. Breasts take 6-8 months to settle completely. You are in the very early stages of recovery and I would continue to follow your surgeons recommendations and giving it some time. As the breast soften and settle they will look and feel totally different. Best of luck to you while you continue to recover.
Dear VP,Hello and thank you for your excellent question. When picking an implant size, it is not just about the number, but also about your chest wall size and dimensions. While 600 cc's may be large on many patients, that may not be the case for you, if your body shape requires that size of...
