Clear and Brilliant laser for olive skin? Is it safe for darker skin that is prone to bruise easily?

we use C and B on any skin color in our office and the results are great-no bruising.  Our one nurse who is African American has seen an incredible improvement in her skin texture and getting rid of uneven texture and chronic break outs-absolutely no bruising, just a red hue after treatment that lasts 1-2 hrs.

I would suggest pretreatment with a bleaching agent such as hydroquinone to prevent post inflammatory hyperpigmentation which you might be at risk for with Fitzpatrick Skin Type IV.

This is one of the safest lasers available and post inflammatory hyper pigmentation is not an issue. If this is a concern from a previous laser experience, I recommend pretreating the skin with Vit C serum or a hydroquinone containing cream.

I have used this laser on people of all skin colors with excellent results. If you are worried, you should know that there are 3 settings and although olive skin can be very safely treated on the medium setting,  you can ask your physician to start on low. Once you have seen the results of your treatment  you can  move up for your next one.

Clear and Brilliant lasers are absorbed by water in the skin, not by white or dark pigment, so those with darker tones can receive the treatment safely and effectively. Unlike concerns about dark skin tones with some other lasers, pretty much everyone can receive the treatment without risk of causing hyperpigmentation.

Clear and Brilliant is a gentle laser that is safe for all  skin types. However, if you are prone to bruising or worried about post treatment hyperpigmentation, talk to your laser specialist. They should be able to recommend post treatment precautions you can take to avoid hyperpigmentation. Also, avoid exposure to the sun before and after your Clear + Brilliant treatment to avoid hyperpigmentation.

Depending on the skin type, pre AND post treatment with HQ or Lytera bleaching cream can help. Most ethic patients do not need pre treatment but if one is pulse stacking and going beyond the treatment parameters for the area, we do use lightening agents. The Fiori Team
