I didn’t like my weak chin and i was recommended to get a chin implant and i feel the doctor put one that does not fit my face. It makes my face look long and masculine and my face before was not. I had a revison surgery and he cut some of it down but it did not help. This is making me depressed because im not even comfortable taking pictures anymore or going out. Please let me know some recommendations. My doctor is trying to make me pay again to get a smaller implant.
Answer: Chin implant: things you should know Thank you for your question and photos. I’m sorry you’re unhappy with your chin implant and revision results. While using injectable treatments such as filler and Botox can alter the appearance of your chin, the benefits are temporary. It may be best to get a second opinion and determine if removal and/ or replacement of the chin implant is a better idea. Silicone implants are an excellent option because they can be customized to the ideal shape for your face and easily removed at a later time. I recommend scheduling an in-person consultation with an experienced, board-certified facial plastic surgeon. They will be able to review your surgical history, discuss your concern with you, and help you decide on the best treatment plan.

Answer: Consider having your chin implant removed. The nice thing about rubberized silicone implants is that they are ridiculously easy to remove. Since you have had two unsuccessful attempts at chin augmentation, and since you preoperative chin appearance is somewhat cute, replacing your current implant may not be the best idea. Six months after your implant is removed, you can consider whether or not you'd like to try a smaller one. Hope this helps! Dr Joseph

Answer: Revision chin implant surgery Hello Compassionate3322! Greetings from Istanbul.Thank you for your question.Regarding the photos you provided it looks like your surgeon used a too long and too big chin implant. It is not proportional to your face. I recommend you to get a revision chin implant surgery, by removing this implant and using a smaller and rounder implant (that would fit your face better).

Answer: Chin revision In the pre-op photo your chin was slightly recessive but narrow and feminine. It is common for an implant to make the chin appear wider unless it is a custom implant. You might consider removing the implant and assuming your pre-surgical condition. Otherwise, a sliding genioplasty can add more projection without creating a wider masculine appearance.

Answer: Chin implant I'm sorry to hear that you're not happy with your chin implant and the results of your revision surgery. It's important to find a qualified and experienced plastic surgeon who can assess your situation and provide recommendations. Here are a few things you can do: Get a second opinion: Consult with another board-certified plastic surgeon to get an unbiased opinion on your situation. They may be able to offer different recommendations or provide additional insight into your options. Consider non-surgical options: If you're not comfortable with surgery or can't afford it, there are non-surgical options that may help improve the appearance of your chin. For example, fillers can be used to enhance the chin or jawline, while Botox can be used to reduce the appearance of a square jaw. Research your surgeon: Before undergoing any type of surgery, make sure to research your surgeon and read reviews from other patients. Look for a board-certified plastic surgeon with experience in chin augmentation surgeries and a track record of positive outcomes. Remember, it's important to take your time when making a decision about surgery and to feel comfortable with your surgeon and their recommendations. I hope this helps, best of luck !
