I don't like my bulbous nose. I want it to be smaller, with almost the same shape, but more pointed. Is it possible to get a surgery like that? I kind of want my nose to look somewhat like the singer Maxine Ashley's nose, but I know that is probably not very realistic.
Answer: A smaller nose After reviewing your photos, you would be a challenging rhinoplasty. Although there is no doubt that you would have a smaller, refined nose - you also have very thick skin, something that makes it difficult to achieve the kind of refined appearance that someone with thin skin would have. I recommend seeking out a Board-Certified Plastic Surgeon who will accurately examine your nose, create a simulation that will show you what your nose COULD look like after surgery, and formulate a plan tailored to your needs and wishes. Good luck!

Answer: Rhinoplasty for a smaller nose It is possible to obtain a smaller nose with a closed rhinoplasty procedure, whereby all the incisions are placed on the inside of the nose. The bulbous tip is addressed and refined with suture techniques applied to the lower lateral cartilages of the nasal tip, and sometimes a conservative cartilage removal is also performed at the same time. The dorsal hump can be shaved down and the bridge line narrowed with osteotomies. This will create a smaller nose from the pre-existing one that is present. Computer imaging may also be helpful for the patient to see what can and cannot be accomplished with the rhinoplasty procedure For many examples, please see the link below

Answer: Smaller nose, rhinoplasty Hello, thank you for your question. The nose can be reduced and from what I can tell the operation can be performed from entirely on the inside of the nose. It is hard to tell exactly from the photos but the skin seems a little on the thicker side and the tip has dropped to some degree as well. The cartilages for the tip also appear wide. Without an actual evaluation in the office to determine exactly the anatomy of the nose it is hard to say but I do think the nose can overall be reduced in size with improved definition and support!

Answer: Desire a Smaller Version of My Nose A rhinoplasty can be done to reduce the size of your nose. Definition and refinement will be limited because of your very thick skin. However surgery combined with skin treatment will provide improvement. See an experienced rhinioplasty surgeon to establish reasonable expectations.
