How can I fix my chin and jawline? (photos)

Question

I have a thick chin pad and recessed chin that makes me look like I have a double chin from every angle. How do I get a more contoured chin permanently? I want to get rid of the crease under my lip and have a contoured profile. I also have an overbite and had braces as a kid but never considered jaw surgery until now. It seems complicated and a long process. I also hate my bulbous nose and very dark under eye circles. Please provide some solutions.

Based on the photos I notice a wide chin and deep mentolabial fold with slight over projection. I think that you would achieve a more feminine chin by reducing the anterior posterior projection and increasing the height a bit. Sometimes I remove a segment of bone with a reduction genioplasty but it is not recommended in your case. Reducing the projection will reduce the width and diminish the mentolabial fold and make the chin pad less noticeable.

You have a thick chin pad and a chin that is vertically short. Your chin needs to be vertically lengthened, not brought further forward. This will rotate the chin pad downward and help soften the labiomental sulcus underneath it. This is known as a vertical lengthening bony genioplasty. Computer imaging is the best way for you to see that potential type of chin change. This could be combined with a rhinoplasty to narrow your bulbous nasal tip.

Consider placement of a chin implant to augment the chin forward, which also gives a small amount of lateral with an vertical height.    Chin implants are manufactured in a large  array of thicknesses, sizes, and shapes.  In our practice for over 25 years, we have used Implantech brand of solid silicone chin implants with an excellent success rate.  They can be performed under local anesthesia as an outpatient procedure.
