Hi there! Thanks for your question. Rib grafts tend to hold a firm structure even when swelling comes down. It's possible, though, that once the swelling improves, the skin will settle and the "tightness" will become less noticeable. If still tight, it could be that the graft is too large and needs to be modified. Taping and steroids can help the skin improve if performed carefully. Waiting at least 8-12 months is necessary before making a decision regarding a revision. Hope this is useful!
