Tray only covers half of the back tooth. My jaw feels constant pressure where that tooth is.

Question

I put my tray on I realized it only covered 1/2 of my back tooth on the upper right side. The dentist said its because the impressions didn't get that tooth fully and Invisalign was fine with it because its a nonmoving tooth. My jaw feels constant pressure where that tooth is because it feels like it sits funny. Not to mention its sharp and my tongue catches on it. Am I stuck with this for my whole treatment plan?

If you're feeling some discomfort from your aligners, let your doctor know. The issues you mentioned can be remedied with communication. The sharp edge can usually be corrected by filing that area, either by you using an emery board or by your doctor. The feeling of jaw  pressure may be from the aligner not fitting flush on the molar (back tooth), in which case the aligners can be remade.

For the rough part of the tray the dentist should easily be able to smooth that down for you. If you are feeling pressure in that area it may not be related to that area of the tray. If you have a big concern a new impression or scan could be sent to cover that area but I would wait until the next tray to make sure that is in fact the issue.
