How can I heal my skin after this extreme irritation? (Photos)

Question

Since getting a chemical peel done, whenever I use epiduo forte my skin reacts to it even though I had been using it before the peel for three months. I used it last night as a spot treatment and woke up with this. What can I do to heal my skin?? I am using La Roche Posay Cicaplast Baume and Vaseline atm. Will that help me?

You need to talk to the physician who put you on Epiduo Forte and/or did the chemical peel. The reaction is not unexpected depending on when you had the peel. One of the ingredients of Epiduo Forte is a retinol, adapalene. With the dead cells of the skin removed and the skin thinner after the peel, the adapalene absorbs easier and you get an increased reaction from it. I usually recommend cutting back on retinols significantly for a while after a peel. You simply need to skip a day with the Epiduo and then use less until the reaction settles.
