Using Minoxidil and anesthesia dont disappear

Minoxidil can cause irritation for some people.  Local anesthesia after surgery lasts only a few hours.  It does not last for days or months.  Some people may experience numbness after surgery unrelated to the local anesthesia.  This can last several weeks.

Typically local anesthesia only lasts the day of the procedure.  You should follow up with your doctor to see why you are having prolonged difficulty with sensation. Typically minoxidil would be recommended 2 months after a procedure.  If it is causing you irritation it should be discontinued and you should look for a different preparation.  I use a compounding pharmacy to help develop different preparations.  Best, Dr. Welter

No, it is not. The anesthesia should have been gone within hours. The feeling you are describing is a ''numbness''. Yet, that should have been gone by now as well. You should go back and check with your doctor about the numbness. If it is causing irritation or redness I would recommend you to get a quick check-in with your doctor to see why this is the case. I would recommend to stop using Minoxidil if it is causing any side effects. From our practice's point of view, Minoxidil does not cause transplanted hair to grow faster.

At 2+ months, all signs of anesthesia should be gone, so you should go back to your doctor and ask your doctor what is causing your numbness. I feel strongly that Rogaine (minoxidil) will not facilitate the growth of the new hair transplants. I did a study some years ago where I put minoxidil on one half of the transplanted area and not on the other half. On the dozen or so patients I did this on, there was no difference in the speed or the amount of growth.
