Is it safe to have Smart Lipo while taking high blood pressure medication?

Patients with well-controlled hypertension need to undergo a complete medical evaluation with their medical specialist prior to liposuction by any technique. Medications need to be reviewed to make sure they do not interact with any anesthetic agents planned for the procedure. Bruising is more frequent during the recovery process. The procedure should be conducted in an accredited surgical facility. If you have other co-morbidities such as heart disease, major cosmetic surgery would not be in your best interest. Any blood thinners such as aspirin or statins would need to be withheld prior to surgery because they provoke blood loss.

Hi.. thank you for the question... Yes is possible to have Smart Lipo, been a diagnose and treated hypertensive patient. In my practice before surgery a cardiologist do the clearance to make sure everything is just fine. 

Thanks for the question, we use some adrenaline in the wetting solution for liposuction so there may be a slight increase in blood pressure, that being said, as long as you are well controlled and asymptomatic on your medication you would likely be a good candidate for the procedure
