It is likely that you will end up with loose skin after liposuction removes the fat from your arms. To have the fat removed and skin tightened would be better treated by an arm lift, however, the trade off will be a long scar. Be sure to consult with a board certified plastic surgeon. Good luck.
Hi, thank you for your question. Based on your photos, I believe you would have a better result with a brachioplasty procedure than liposuction alone. Your "batwings" are a combination of excess fat and excess skin. Liposuction treats the fat only. Given your excess skin, if you only remove the fat with liposuction alone, you will be left with significant skin excess. This will leave you with a suboptimal result. An evaluation by a board-certified plastic surgeon will help you navigate to the correct intervention for the ideal result. I hope this helps. Good luck in reaching your aesthetic goal!
Based on your age and amount of arm skin, I have doubts about lipo getting you as tight and smooth a look as you may desire. I would expect some sagging and skin irregularity after lipo alone of this area.An arm lift in my opinion would be better, but it is a more involved scar.
Dear Misscarm,it is hard to tell for sure without an examination. If you are considering a surgery, I would suggest you to consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. Only after a thorough examination you will get more information and recommendations.Daniel Barrett, MDCertified, American Board of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery
Options for arm contouring typically fall into one of 2 groups: liposuction or excisional procedures (i.e. brachioplasty). This is ultimately a question of laxity vs fullness (or both). For those patients with laxity the focus is primarily on skin removal. Those with fullness, on the other hand liposuction can be very effective. For those with both, liposuction alone can often worsen the situation by accentuating the skin excess.Another alternative is liposuction in conjunction with an RF heating modality (Thermi/BodyTite). This allows for greater tightening than liposuction alone (30%) while avoiding the heavy scar burden assocaited with brachioplasty. As always, discuss your concerns with a board certified plastic surgeon (ABPS).
Thanks for your question. Based on your photos you appear to be a good candidate for an arm lift procedure. Liposuction alone will leave you with more excess skin. Arm lift (brachioplasty) can be a very powerful technique to get rid of excess skin and laxity and result in smooth, contoured arms. We can use the mini arm lift for relatively small amounts of skin excess, or a full arm lift when additional skin removal and tightening are desired.
Skin tightening can be done with a combination of vanquish, venus legacy, exilis, celllutone/Zwave. However for best results, an arm lifting procedure can be combined with a high definition procedure at the same time. I recommend a hi definition procedure like VASER liposuction. I use VASER HI DEF with ThermRF and fat grafting to get the most fat removal, skin tightening, contour and definition. This combination will give you the most toned result. I recommend getting a formal evaluation with a hi definition physique expert. Best, Dr. Emer
Based on your photos- you appear to be a candidate for a Brachioplasty /Arm lift. I suggest that you seek an experienced Board Certified PS for in person exam
Only on the basis of in person evaluation one could give you good advice about this procedure. I am afraid that liposuction only will leave you with saggy but thinner arms. Combination of liposuction and selective skin removal (excision) would be my choice based on these photos?. Good luck.
Misscarm. I appreciate your concern, however it appears from your photograph that you would achieve the most dramatic result from a combination of liposuction and skin excision of some sort. Consult with a board-certified plastic surgeon in your area to explore the best options for you. Good luck.
If you have small problem areas you can use non invasive methods like coolsculpting with vanquish to get small areas of fat reduced. Skin also tightens if you combine this with exilis ultra or venus legacy radiofrequency treatments. You boost the results from coolsculpting if you add in...
It is possible your piercing is still there but you may still have a lot of swelling. It may take up to 6 months for all of the swelling to resolve. Ta;l to your surgeon about your piercing, it may have been compromised during liposuction and you may need to get it re-pierced. Good luck.
Thank you for your question. It's hard to answer this question without seeing photos and an in person evaluation. It sounds like you would be a great candidate for Liposuction. I would suggest seeing a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon to evaluate you and go over your options of surgical vs no...
Thank you for your question. I agree with your surgeon to start with Lymphatic massage and then do some at home massage. This will help break down some of the scar tissue, increase the blood flow going that area. I would suggest to continue with your surgeons recommendations and follow up wi...
Hi, thank you for sharing your experience and asking your question. I’m so sorry that you are going through this. Regardless of financial considerations, surgery is never a good solution for patients who suffer from body dysmorphic disorder. There are a number of mental health s...
Thank you for your pictures and questions. The fact that you "can't get in contact" with your doctor tells me one thing......you chose the wrong doctor. The appearance in the photos is very concerning and also tells me that in choosing your doctor, you probably did not choose a plastic surgeon...
