Rash after leads on forehead from EEG/ BOTOX. What can I put on it?

I had ask if EEG 6 days post botox could mess with my results and you Doctors were wonderful at making me feel better. Now I ask another question. They had to come take my leads off today as I had a allergic reaction to glue that held leads in place. now my forehead has a huge rash. what can I put on it? Im so worried about all this affecting the botox I had 8 days ago.

EEG leads will not interfere with the Botox you had 8 days ago. You will want to avoid any manipulation to your face for 24 hours post injection. Best,

Hi BREN21:I hope the EEG provided the information needed to make you better. It sounds like the EEG pad adhesive created a dermatitis under each pad. You won't be the first person to have developed an irritation from such an adhesive. Please call the EEG lab and ask what to do or consult with a Board Certified Dermatologist to evaluate the irritation and make recommendations. There is no expectation that the "allergic reaction / rash" you describe will affect the efficacy of the Botox treatment.All the best!

A mild to mid-strength topical steroid such as Locoid lipocream (now available as a generic) applied twice a day and rubbed in well should take care of the problem. See a good Dermatologist and she/he should be able to solve your problem.           jlr
