Hello! I have this asymmetry in my brow that I feel is unattractive (although easily concealed with makeup). The picture is of a static resting face, which I find extremely hard to do. I unconsciously hold up my brow, resulting in forehead wrinkles. What is the best option for correction (I am a student and have limited resources). I am a 37 year old female. Thanks!

Answer: You appear to have ptosis of the left eyelid You have ptosis of the left eyelid, and this drooping of the eyelid causes you to elevate the left brow in an attempt to elevate the lid. Definitive treatment requires ptosis repair to restore the normal eyelid function. Once repaired the brow will no longer need to help the lid to elevate and the brow symmetry will be restored. Botox could be used to help elevate the other brow in an attempt to create symmetry, and this may work well. However the Ptosis will still exist, and the problem will only be masked. It is best to visit with a facial plastic, occuloplastic, or general plastic surgeon to help with your concern.

Answer: Botox or Dysport can help fix uneven brows. The fact that your left eyebrow naturally sits in an elevated position can be corrected easily with Botox, but first I would like to make sure you know that everyone is slightly asymmetrical naturally! Please don't feel self-conscious about it. It's perfectly normal to have one brow sit higher and no need to treat it at all. If you really want to pursue it, it might be fixed for as little as a few dollars by putting a single injection over the elevated left brow in the proper spot to relax the muscle that always pulls upward at rest, and repeating that injection every few months. Other options may include injections below the browline on the right side (glabella and lateral canthus area) to elevate that brow a little bit so they rest more evenly. This is easy to do on a budget, so best of luck!
