How long after a hairline lowering surgery can I wear a helmet?

I understand the average time for a person to resume "normal" activities is about 2 weeks for hairline lowering surgery, but my "normal" activity includes horse back riding. I have to wear a helmet to ride and, of course, I don't want the helmet to irritate the wound. About how long after hairline lowering surgery can I comfortably wear a helmet?

Typically, sutures from a hairline lowering/surgical hairline advancement surgery get removed at 7 to 9 days.  I'd recommend waiting another week after that before any wearing of the cap assuming it is not rubbing or coming close to your incision.  If it is, then I'd wait 3 to 4 weeks, but ask your surgeon.

Your surgeon my recommend waiting at least two -four weeks before wearing any type apparel on your scalp. Have your surgeon look at your helmet and see if it is approved or not.
