I had lower trans conq. (inside tightening) blepharoplasty 6 weeks ago, with laser resurfacing. The initial swelling appears to have subsided now have under eye puffiness/bags. When I went for my post surgery check, the surgeon said some people still have bags despite the surgery. Is this true? I feel like I suffered recovery and cost for nothing. He basically dismissed me without offering any hope.

Answer: Under eye bags after surgery No, I don't think that most people should have persistent bags just after having lower eyelid blepharoplasty. But every person is different so I could not say with certainty that your surgeon was incorrect without seeing you. Providing photos or even better, an in person consultation with an ophthalmic plastic surgeon would be helpful to answer your question with greater reliability. I hope that this helps!

Answer: Bags after blepharoplasty It is difficult to give any specific advice without pre and post op photos. I general most of the swelling should be gone by 6 weeks, but not in every case. If this is residual fat then you might require a revision, but this shouldn't be contemplated for at least six month to allow for complete healing. If you are unhappy with your surgeon then you should seek a second opinion from another qualified surgeon
