Under impression that FUT will not yield more Than 1500 grafts.. Am i right with the decision? I fall under NW 4A!
Answer: Don't focus on the number focus on results. Don't focus on the number focus on results. Unless your doctor told you to have 1500 grafts and you woke up with 3300 grafts. Something doesn't sound right (or add up).

Answer: FUT can give high number of grafts FUT or strip technique can give high number of grafts. For example, a strip size of 25cm X 1.4 cm would have a total of 3500 donor grafts assuming a density of 100 FU / square cm. Of course if the density goes down to 40/cm2, the yield comes down to 1400 grafts. This figure should then be adjusted according to follicular wastage that occurs at the time of dissection. It may be as low as 2% in experienced hand but can go very high with novice technicians. At the end, there is no definite answer to upper or lower limit. It depends upon a patients personal characteristics like skin laxity and density along the expertise of treating team.

Answer: Yield from FUT/FUE Yield depends on many factors such as your density and donor area size. Also, does the team cut grafts down or not. This is something that can only be answered in detail after a consult with your physician.

Answer: Side by side comparing FUT and FUE Strip surgery is the most efficient surgery. FUE surgery takes out every 4-5th follicular group while strip surgery stays in the middle of the donor area and has been proven safe. Of course there are doctors who push FUE to higher numbers taking out more follicular unit than every 4th and they also, to achieve the numbers, go outside the permanent zone. I have done strip surgeries in excess of 5,000 grafts as has many other doctors. FUE in that range brings on problems. See the video below as well as an extensive article I wrote on FUE vs Strip surgery

Answer: Number of grafts. Your donor area can yield up to 7000 total grafts in your lifetime. 3300 grafts in one session is a very good number. I have not done more in one session. There are some surgeons who have done over 6000 grafts in one session.
