when i was growing up i developed underbite and my lower jaw is protruding. I am currently wearing full set of denture in the upper part. I am planning to get a permanent full upper dental impants as well as jaw surgery to correct my underbite. I am wondering which procedure should go first and for how long will it take to fully heal and correct? Many thanks!

Answer: Life changing!!!
This will change your life in so many ways! It is great that you are proceeding with this surgery. It is VITALLY important that you find a great restorative dentist AND oral surgeon that work as a team!
The best way to proceed would be to complete the surgery first and then follow that by restoring your teeth. If anybody tells you differently, find another dentist!
This will not be a quick fix, After it is over, you will look back and be very glad that you did it! It will improve the long-term health of your teeth and help prevent problems that would enevitably arise years down the road if you did not have this done.
Congratulations!!!

Answer: Implants or Jaw Surgery First?
You should have a consultation with a very well experienced Cosmetic Dentist that works with an Oral Surgeon. You should probably have the jaw surgery FIRST, and when that is all healed and stable, then place the implants in the new position of your jaw.
