Can I get a buzz cut 6 month FUE transplant?

Hey i had a fue hair transplant. My doctor says that, i first Can get a buzz cut after 6 month. I have seen people gets a buzz cut after 1-2 month, and read Articles thats people is allow to do it… I know it's always best to listen to your doctor's advice, but waiting 6 months while people can cut after 1-2 months makes me wonder. Can somebody help plz.

You must wait 6 months for machine cut for transplanted area. If you cut before it may still damage your grafts.

Thank you for your inquiry. At my office, I typically inform patients to wait 4 weeks before having a haircut to allow the donor area and recipient area time to heal. I recommend discussing your concerns with your surgeon as there may be a particular reason, he recommends waiting 6 months as it pertains to your case.

Unless there are unusual circumstances, I generally tell my patients they can get any kind of haircut they want about 10-14 days after their surgery. At this point the implanted grafts are well-established and there is no danger to harming them.

The patient can shave  after 4-6 weeks post-op. Of course it is related to the healing progress. It is better to contact your doctor again and get a clear answer.

The donor area can be safely clipped short 2 to 3 weeks after the FUE procedure.However, we recommend our patients wait for an additional 4 weeks before clipping short the recipient areas. As your individual circumstances may vary, it is best to follow your surgeon's advice.
