Hi doctors, I had a deep plane facelift with fat transfer 10 months ago, and I have three concerns I’d love professional opinions on. I’ve attached photos to illustrate them. 1. Extra Skin Behind My Earlobes • Since the surgery, I’ve noticed that the skin behind both ears appears weird. Part of the skin seems attached to the earlobe, while another part is connected to the surrounding skin, creating a fold or step-off effect. I’ve never heard of this happening before—is this normal? Also, can it be fixed? 2. Lack of Fat Transfer in My Eye Area • My surgeon did perform fat transfer, but in my view, it wasn’t enough in the lower eyelid. When I brought this up, he responded that adding more fat wouldn’t look good. However, when I was still swollen, my eyes appeared much better—fuller and more refreshed. Is it accurate that additional fat transfer to this area generally doesn’t look good? I feel like some volume there would have improved my results rather than harmed them. Would fat transfer still be an option at this point? 3. There’s a noticeable gap or separation between the hairline and the area behind my ear—an unnaturally smooth patch of bare neck skin that extends farther up. Is this normal with deep plane facelifts? I’d appreciate any insights into whether these are common post-op experiences or if they might require intervention. Thank you in advance for your time and expertise!
