INFO Age: 20 Height: 5'11 Weight: 165 Body-fat: 12-14% (I have a lean muscular build) Sex: Male Race: Middle-eastern QUESTION: I want to get a chin implant (to heighten) and sub-liposuction, but I don't know if I should do it simultaneously. I would prefer to get them done at the same time so that I can see results much quicker, but I am worried about the quality of the work being affected. Is there a chance the surgeon will do a better job if I get only one procedure done at a time?
Answer: Short chin The photos show that your lower facial height is short. This cannot be improved with a chin implant. A chin implant will make the appearance worse. Instead, the solution is a vertically lengthening sliding genioplasty. Liposuction can be performed simultaneously.

Answer: Advice on Simultaneous Liposuction and Chin Implant I can provide information based on general medical knowledge but it's important to note that you should always consult with a professional healthcare provider or a plastic surgeon for personalized advice. Many plastic surgeons do perform multiple procedures in one session, as it can limit the amount of anesthesia used and recovery time. However, it's crucial to consider the surgeon's experience and comfort level with performing multiple procedures at once. In your case, submental liposuction and a chin implant can be performed simultaneously. These procedures are often combined because they complement each other — the liposuction reduces fat under the chin and the implant provides further definition. It's important to note that while this can provide faster results, it may also increase the time needed for recovery and the risk of complications. It's recommended to have an in-depth discussion with your plastic surgeon about your concerns. They can provide a personalized assessment of your situation, including the potential risks and benefits of having both procedures done at the same time.

Answer: Chin Implant? I am sorry to tell you, but I'm not enthusiastic about either procedure based on the photos provided. I definitely would not suggest a chin implant for you, which would be create too much chin projection. Based on your lean body mass and lack of real subcutaneous submental fat, liposuction is not going to yield an impressive result. At some point in the future, a deep neck lift may be of some benefit, but would hesitate to do so for a 20 year old man. I would encourage you to assess your motivations and goals. From an aesthetic standpoint, the only procedure that may be of benefit to you is a rhinoplasty.

Answer: You may not be a good candidate for a chin implant. I say this because you have very nice projection of your chin on profile. I believe that even a small chin implant may make your profile chin appearance look too strong. You may consider having simply neck liposuction. I hope this helps. Sincerely, Dr Joseph

Answer: Neck liposuction with fat transfer My suggestion is to have liposuction of the neck and take that fat and transfer it to your chin so that you don't need to implant anything initially. It would be wiser to transfer the fat from your neck and put it in your chin and IF that is not enough of a change, then, I would consider the implant.
