It is swollen but i am in pain i cannot really eat as well sip through a straw and hurts when i talk. I am icing for the swelling to go down. But just wondering if this is normal?

Answer: Lip injections - what to expect Lips always swell a lot, as they are very sensitive and vascular structures. Regardless of whether you inject with a needle or a canula (my preferred method), the lips will swell for the first 24-48 hours. The lips will never wind up bigger than they were at the end of the injection, as filler doesn't grow. Any increase you see is due to swelling. It can take 2 full weeks for lip filler to settle. I suggest you ice the lips a lot for the first 1-2 days. If sever swelling occurs, then consider taking an oral steroid or using steroid cream.
