Fractional laser is an amazing and highly effective treatment in our office. We use the laser treatment to help with acne scars, large pores, fine wrinkles, tissue collagen loss, scars, sebaceous hyperplasia, active acne, and for brightening dark pigmentation. Although there are very strong fractional lasers such as CO2 laser, we use lighter treatments for corrective skincare and maintenance of results. Our Thulium fractional laser, clear and brilliant laser, and Ultra Thulium laser are excellent options in our clinic. We also perform CO2 fractional and erbium depending on skin tone and tolerance for downtime. Patients do have to use a Melarase cream before and after treatment to help further reduce pigmentation after laser. Melarase AM, Melarase PM, and Melapads can seriously improve surface sun damage and UV related pigmentation. Dark spots can improve with these treatments. I recommend fractional laser for incisional scars as well, especially after plastic surgery. Best,Dr. Karamanoukian Realself100 Surgeon
Fraxel is a great laser for skin rejuvenation. it can be used to treat brown spots on the legs. however, it will take several treatments to see the results. additionally, the person doing the procedure should be familiar with the laser and its efficacy on off-face areas.
Fraxel is outstanding for fine wrinkles, mild skin laxity, irregular pigmentation, acne scars, surgical scars, enlarged pores, stretch marks, age spots and Rosacea. It can be used safely on the face, neck, hands, arms, and chest. Therefore, you would be a great candidate for the treatment, as it should greatly improve the sun damage on your legs. I would suggest scheduling a consultation with a board-certified doctor to further discuss the results you would like to achieve.
Yes, the Fraxel laser can be used to treat scars. The Fraxel laser does not remove scars, because scars are permanent. Scars are visible because of color and/or surface texture changes compared to the surrounding skin. Scar treatments or revisions are very individualized procedures that...
Neovascularization, or new blood vessel formation, is a normal and desired outcome after a Fraxel treatment. These blood vessels can be quite delicate, and unfortunately may occasionally rupture after rubbing or washing the skin. Although it may be temporarily unsightly, it is nothing to...
Minocycline induced hyperpigmentation does not respond to Fraxel because the pigment particles are deposited rather deep. The Fraxel laser is not a pigment laser. I have had success treating minocycline induced hyperpigmentation with the Q Switch Laser.
