Here's a picture for weeks out from Moes on nose surgery What can I do to make this look much much better? Two weeks I get the dog ear removed. The scar looks so jagged and it stays red and purple. When will the scan pulled from I settle down and look natural?
Answer: Scar on Nose After Mohs I would begin pulsed dye laser treatments at this time with Biocorneum. I usually do fractional co2 resurfacing 6 weeks after large flaps. You can get a significant improvement from this. See a laser specialist to get the best results. Dr. Emer.

Answer: What Can You Do To Make Your Mohs Surgery Scar Look Better? Thanks for your question and thanks for including the photos – they help. Moh’s surgery is a great procedure that helps remove skin cancers and preserve the normal skin that we have left in the area. In our area (I am from Nashville) we have some excellent Moh’s surgeons, so you can be comfortable that the procedure was done correctly, if this was performed by one of the dermatology trained Moh’s surgeons in the area. Most surgeons advocate waiting six months for the final scar result to happen; although in the laser world, where I live, we do believe that red and elevated scars can be treated with pulsed dye or other vascular lasers early and minimize most of the scar as a result. Also, the use of silicone gel, either in patch or cream form, can also help here. In research that I published many years ago, we showed conclusively that the use of silicone get sheeting used immediately after suture removal was very beneficial in minimizing final scar results in many people. Ask your surgeon if any of these could be useful for you and have them refer you if needed to somewhere where these can be done. Best of luck in making this scar and the redness better.

Answer: Treatment of Scars & Redness After Mohs Thank you for your question. It’s important to know that for approximately 6 months to a year following surgery, it’s natural for a scar to stay red and purple, especially for someone that has fair complexion and also prone to flushing and rosacea. In two weeks, you will be getting the dog ear removed. Upon adequate waiting time of approximately 6 weeks, one can use non-invasive and non-surgical vascular lasers to remove the excess broken capillaries that result in redness from the surgery. This is a simple routine procedure that is performed in the office with no recovery. However, a few sessions might be necessary to completely eradicate the capillaries which are causing the redness. I would like to thank you for your question.
