I had a 1900 graft FUT transplant 6 months ago today and I'm afraid the results I'm seeing aren't what I was hoping for. My hairline has changed however there is no density and the hair is really thin. My crown area I feel has actually thinned even more since my transplant as well. Are my results typical for this amount of time to have passed? I added a before and after picture from my transplant. The after pictures were taken today.
Answer: FUT results after 6 months One important factor to remember is that the results of a hair transplant are just beginning to become evident at 6 months post-transplant. It takes at least a full year to see the final results of a transplant session as the hairs are still developing, growing, and maturing. That being said, continued hair loss can occur and can negatively impact the final overall result. Additional treatments like finasteride, minoxidil, PRP injections, and other are important to maintain the native hair and prevent future loss. Finally, many patients will desire to have multiple hair transplant sessions in order to achieve optimal results, and this may be an option a year or so post-transplant.All the best,

Answer: 6 month mark Without pre-op photos it is difficult to judge your results but keep in mind you still have another 6 months of growth to go.I don't know how large an area was transplanted but 1900 grafts seems low.Hair loss is progressive so adjuncts such as Minoxidil and/or Finasteride are helpful in preventing further loss.Check with your surgeon.

Answer: 6 Months Post-Op It would be helpful if you could let us know how many grafts were placed in the vertex and hairline. 1900 grafts for both the hairline and vertex would normally gives light coverage for both areas. That being said it seems that there is little difference in the before and after photos, even given the small of grafts used. By 6 months most patients are 70-80% grown in, although some patients are late growers so be sure to follow up with your physician at the one year mark.
