Thank you very much for your question, and the pictures.It is not uncommon to have significant swelling in the back following liposuction, and this can take months to fully resolve.  Since you are only 1 month out, I would anticipate that you still have some swelling that will settle....

Yes, it is OK to NOT take steroids after liposuction.  Most doctors wouldn't prescribe steroids for a liposuction case anyway.  Be sure to wear your compression garment, and otherwise follow the instructions of your doctor.  Best of luck!
