I had a mole that kept on changing almost daily. I had it removed and am now scared because the area is swollen very warm and painful. Is it ok that I wait another 24 hours before getting it looked at? And does this reaction imply melanoma?

Excision of the mole under local is easy and runs $350-500 and is so worth it. The remaining scar should look a lot better than the mole itself.

I suggest to follow your physicians protocol for post-treatment care, as his/her protocol may vary from mine. I have my patients use a silicone based scar gel with growth factors.   Best, Dr. Emer
