Are there any risks with PRF EZ gel for occlusion?

Hi I’m a 31yr old healthy female. I’ve started noticing slight hollowing in my inner corner and darkening of the skin. However it’s not bad. I want to prevent it from getting worse with time. So I’ve been researching prf Ez gel. Online there are mixed reviews. I believe this procedure will correct 60-70% of my main concern, subtle volume and brightening the under eye. But I want to make sure there are no real risk. can ez gel occlude or block an artery that causes vision loss? Thank you for you help.

This is a great question. Since the PRF gel products such as EZ-gel and PureBioFill are made with blood products, could inadvertently injecting into a vessel cause an occlusion? The short answer is yes. Because the plasma is solidified by heating, VO is a risk with the PRF gel products. VO has been reported even with liquid PRP and PRF. Injectors need to be vigilant with injecting any product. If it occurs, the treatment is different.  Hyaluronidase can dissolve HA fillers but will not dissolve a blood clot which is probably what causes VO with PRP/PRF products. If an injector tells you that a VO cannot occur with EZ-gel, I would question their judgement and knowledge. It is always better to be overcautious and go to a provider who knows what they are doing and knows what to do in the event of complications.
