Female. 35yo. 5’7” 140 lbs. lipo was done 9-10 months ago. If not, what would be the best treatment option? Thanks
Answer: Morpheus 8 Hi @102021! I recommend Morpheus 8. Morpheus8 is a non-surgical treatment for full body skin resurfacing, skin tightening, and fat reduction of stubborn areas. It uses minimally invasive fractional radiofrequency energy (RF) to penetrate the skin deeper than other microneedling devices, triggering the skin’s natural healing response to promote skin tightening and lifting. Best of luck, Dr. Nima!

Answer: Uneven after lipo Dear 102021, while there is always a chance for contour irregularities with liposuction, someone who takes their time and uses the appropriate sized cannulas should give you a superb result.I have all my patients wear compression garments and I use multiple sized cannulas to feather out the result. Answer: Correcting poor Liposuction Delivering consistent quality liposuction results is more difficult than most people believe and this includes plastic surgeons. Liposuction results are permanent and more or less irreversible. Correcting poor outcomes is many times more difficult than Primary Liposuction and Sometimes the amount of improvement that can beLimited and even then it may require multiple procedures. Considering that revision work is many times more difficult than primary Liposuction it goes without speaking that you need to be in the hands of somebody who has extensive experience and is extremely talented at both Liposuction and fat transfer. Treatment options typically come down to revision Liposuction(removing more fat in the high areas/under treated) fat transfer(in the over treated areas), A combination of both for converting the procedure to a skin tightening procedure like a full tummy tuck. None of the options are great and deciding which way to go it’s a complex decision that warrants a thorough in person consultation. Fat transfer becomes limited because the areas that need volume the most are now completed of host tissue to support the graft leading to high graft failure rates. Defined the most talented and experience provider I suggest patients have multiple in person consultations with local board-certified plastic surgeons. During the consultation ask each provider to show their entire collection of before and after pictures of abdominal liposuction. In your case also of revision work or fat transfer. Simply seeing a handful of preselected pictures which most likely represent the best results of a providers career is insufficient to get a clear understanding of what average results look like in the hands of each provider. This is why patients need to ask the provider to open up their entire portfolio. Ask questions like show me as many pictures as possible of previous patients with similar body characteristics to my own. an experienced provider should have no difficulty showing you at least 50 sets of before and after pictures of this very common procedure. Highly experienced surgeons will have hundreds or even thousands to choose from. Most plastic surgeons will claim that they have a lot of experience and are good at the procedure but from what I see that is far from reality. Mastering this procedure is far more difficult than most people understand. Been looking at before and after pictures look at all areas treated and look for any evidence of contour irregularities such as what you now have. Obviously it’s a little late for you to find a surgeon for the primary procedure but finding a skilled surgeon is the same process. Your first need to know that they are meticulous and can deliver consistent quality results with the primary procedure before even considering having them do a revision. They may not have nearly as many before and after pictures of Revision Work and some providers may not want to do your revision. Unhappy patient from previous procedures are very time consuming and typically are not happy even after the revision so it is not always thankful work and it’s often very time consuming. Consultations take twice as long and patients typically have multiple follow up questions. I also recommend reading all reviews on various physician review websites avoiding providers for any significant number of justified negative reviews. The absence of justified negative reviews is more important and more telling than having an abundance of positive reviews. In the end your surgeon is responsible for the outcome and you are responsible for choosing that surgeon. I personally would not go back to the same surgeon considering how much more difficult revision work is then primary body contouring. Kybella is not a realistic option and it’s most likely going to make things worse. Best, Mats Hagstrom MD
