I had DHI hair transplant 10 months ago (3500 grafts from beard and back/side of the head donor) . I can still see the skin of my vertex area. Although when I touch it, I can feel small tiny hair already popped out of the skin. Will I get anymore significant density in the next months or should I get an additonal HT? Thank you!

Answer: Healing time I tell all of my patients to wait the full year after transplant before deciding how they feel about the results/density. I would tell you the same. I also warn people that the crown is a very difficult area to cover and eats up a ton of grafts. I try to manage expectations early that even with a great transplant it is unlikely that you will get results where NO scalp is visible, especially over the crown. Native hair of that density over a crown alone (which is likely 70 sq cm) would require greater than 2500 grafts just in the circle of the crown. Based on your after photo, you have a good result so far and if you want to improve the visual density after complete healing, might benefit from some SMP to the crown to reduce the contrast between hair and scalp. I hope this helps.
