Wouldnt the non insulated be better because it will treat scars from epidermis to dermis while the insulated one will only be live at tip? Thanks
Answer: Venus Viva Dear Ashima, I have treated acne scars with various modalities for 19 years. In adition to publishing a book on acne scarring I have performed thousands of laser treatments, needling and dermarollers with and with RF energy. Delicate Asian skin usually does better with the insulated needele. Thicker and darker/oilier skin can tolerate more and insulation is not a must. The degree of improvement is base on the type of the scars. Rolling and atrophic scars need Subcision and possible filling in addition to Dermaroller and RF. Box-car scars respond well to venus Viva nano-fractional RF and micro needling. It is not always needed but treatment with Retin A cream and possibly Hydroquinone cream to prevent hyper-pigmentation is helpful. Please find an experienced dermatologist and consider a test spot if you are worried. Yours, Dr. David R.

Answer: Improving Acne scars with microneedling--add lasers, Cosmelan, subcision, fillers, prp Each Doctor will have their preferred device. I prefer Intensif, which uses non-insulated needles. However, keep in mind, a combination approach will give the most improvement. Acne scars need a combination of lasers, microneedling/prp, Cosmelan, subcision and fillers. It will take a series of treatments and may need some treatments to maintain. I recommend getting a formal evaluation with an acne scarring expert. Best, Dr. Emer

Answer: Depends on your scar type. I think the Intensif has a stronger solenoid motor that is smoother but more powerful. If scars are primarily deep and fibrotic (thick), the Infini spring is not strong enough. If scars are atrophic with little resistance, then I use the Infini. Each acne scar patient will have a unique set of scar types, and hence I prefer to tailor a device for the patient. There is no point of having insulated needles when the needles can be delivered in the area you want. If Infini can produce a better solenoid motor, then it would be a better device. If Intensif can produce more power with insulation, it would be a better device. I hope this gives you insight as there is no one 'perfect' solution to your problem, or acne scarring. Additional a combination of treatments will give better results. Dr Davin S. Lim. Brisbane. Australia
