How long does it take for a scab to fall off from a mole excision?

I had a mole excised about a month ago which ended up getting a little scab on it? It's been a couple weeks and the scan hasn't fell off yet. I can't start any scar treatment until it does so it's getting very annoying. How long does it take for a scab to fall off, what if it never falls off?

Red scars can be improved with a combination of lasers (ProYellow, Excel V, VBeam), Aerolase, microneedling/prp, skin lightening, peels, and skin care. Sun protection is essential. I recommend getting a formal evaluation with a scarring expert. Best, Dr. Emer

It's difficult to tell from your picture. I recommend getting a formal evaluation with a cosmetic dermatologist. This can be removed again with laser, radiowave or shave. See an expert. Best, Dr. Emer

After surgery, scars continue to heal and change in a process called "remodeling" for at least a full year. That being said, your scar does seem to be quite raised. It looks like it is turning into what's called a hypertrophic scar or an early keloid. I would recommend a visit with the physician...
