1 month post op from Smart Lipo. I have bouts of nausea and throwing up.

Hi,Your nausea and vomitting at this point post smart lipo will not be from the medications that were given t you.  The medications would be removed from your body within 48-72 hours.  Please go see your family doctor for evaluation.

The medications commonly used for liposuction whether it's done asleep or awake are completely out of your system in a maximum of 48 hours. See your doctor for an evaluation of common causes of this.

No, this isn't typical. I recommend following up with your Doctor for a formal evaluation. Keep in mind, you can have swelling, which can last 3-6 months after your procedure. Lymphatic massage and venus legacy treatments can give improvement. Smart Lipo needs a combination approach to get the best results. I recommend adding thermage, ultherapy, exilis. VASER liposuction in combination with ThermiRF is a great alternative, but would require more downtime. See an expert. Best, Dr. Emer

Although narcotic medications can certainly cause nausea and vomiting, these are typically not taken more than a day or two after Smartlipo and should be long out of your system by now. As others have suggested, it would be a good idea to follow up with your primary physician at this point and pinpoint the cause of your continued illness. Best of luck.

I cannot see any way that smart lipo could cause nause that occurs one month post up some of the medications we give pre op and post op can cause nausea but that would only be while you are taking them 

Nausea and vomiting 1 month after SmartLipo is not normal. I don't think it is related to your SmartLipo procedure, unless you are still taking narcotic pain medicine, which can definitely cause nausea and vomiting. However if you are not taking narcotics I suggest seeing your regular doctor to find out what is going on. Good luck!

Thank you for your question. I am sorry to hear about difficult recovery. It is not common to have nausea and vomiting after a month. You need to see your PS for evaluation make sure inside abdominal area is OK. It may or may not related to smart lipo.

Not enough posted information? Best to seek GI MD consultation ASAP. You may need GI workup with Upper Endoscopy, lab testing, MRI/CatScans. This could be a serious issue.
