I am getting an umbilical hernia repaired and I also have diastasis recti. My surgeon told me that while he's repairing my hernia he can stitch together my abdominal muscles with mesh to correct the diastasis recti. I have heard different things when it comes to having another child.

Answer: Muscle repair only after finished with child bearing I would wait until you are finished with child bearing before repairing both the hernia and the diastasis recti. If/when you get pregnant you will ruin the results of probably both of the procedures and need a reoperation. Those reoperations are much more difficult and sometimes not successful.
