Morpheus 8 is a non-invasive skin and soft tissue tightening treatment that is consistently amazing in our patients. We use the Morpheus to exact fractional induced RF into the skin or tissue in order to tighten collagen and stimulate contraction of the tissue. For acne scars, it is quite useful to build collagen in patients who have atrophic scars but is not very productive for ice-pick scars which require TCA Cross. For tissue tightening, Morpheus is ideal for the face and neck and we often combine it with CO2 laser or Ultherapy to further enhance results. Chemical peels and skin resurfacing should be done at least 5 to 7 days after, but can be performed earlier, depending on treatment severity. Avoid exfoliating skin treatments before Morpheus and expect a period of 2-4 weeks for skin contraction to set in. Best, Dr. Karamanoukian Realself100 Surgeon
Hi. Thank you for your question. Morpheus 8 CAN be used for acne scarring. For this condition, it is done for RESURFACING, not really for lifting and tightening. You need to go to a physician that know what he/she is doing. If you have a non-physician doing your treatment (which is common), make sure that the person works DIRECTLY under a physician. Because you are right, if the device is not used correctly, you can get fat loss and/or grid marks. For acne scarring, I recommend "multi-modality" treatment. This meand combine treatments like Fraxel, Morpheus 8, micro-needling, CO2 laser and possibly subcision/filler!!
Morpheus is a great option for acne scars. First, make sure the acne is fully gone in the first place. Then do a regular morpheus treatment to fill in the holes and pits and then do a resurfacing morpheus treatment a month later to get rid of the superficial skin layer
Those are all options of course. In my hands, from looking at your photos, projecting into the skin with a bit of filler and/or microfocused jawline sculpting with a lipocannula would be the homerun! Find a surgeon you trust and be clear with your goals. Best, DrC
A picture here would be very helpful. Having said that, the first thing with treating acne scars is making sure the acne is completely stable in the first place and there are no new occuring episodes. After the acne has stopped occurring, you can first treat with a regular morpheus treatment...
I think that you would be a great candidate for both treatments. In our practice, we would recommend that you do 3 treatments of Morpheus8 first and then reassess at about 8 weeks. Morpheus8 often will either eliminate or reduce the amount of filler that you may need because it tightens any...
