Can a Forceful Fall Rupture a Under the Muscle Breast Implant?

Thanks for your question. The newer generation of silicone gel implants are very durable. It would be extremely unlikely that a fall would rupture the shell. The fall alone however could cause a great deal of pain and discomfort. As long as the implant is soft and the shape is normal you should be okay. Best of Luck!

can happen but once the swelling and tenderness resolve, if your breast feels and looks the same, its unlikely. But if you're really concerned, see your surgeon or another local plastic surgeon for a more thorough evaluation. In my humble opinion, if your breast remains soft and the appearances unchanged and all symptoms resolve, I wouldn't even bother looking since the gel, as far as we know, is not responsible for any causation of systemic diseases.

Thanks so much for your question. The short answer is yes. However, it usually is not the case. It really depends on the mechanism of the fall and also the age of the implants. In other words, there are falls and then there are falls. Additionally, an old implant is not able to withstand as much force without rupturing as a new implant. If you have questions I would make an appointment to see a local plastic surgeon. 

Although you can never say never, it is very unusual for trauma to cause an implant to rupture.  The most common cause is "wear and tear" over time and most commonly occurs at the seam of the implant.
