I have very ugly deposits above the crease of my eyelids I know they can be removed but I cant find a doctor that does this. Could you direct me to a doctor in East Tennessee to assist me with this awful problem?
Answer: Xanthelasmas (Eyelid Fatty Deposits) Often Respond Well To Simple Electrocautery I have been treating xanthelasmas--yellow fatty deposits--around the upper and lower eyelids for more than three decades. I have found that, in the vast majority of cases, the use of simple electrocautery applied directly to the center of the yellow bumps leads to significant and immediate and dramatic shrinkage with ultimately barely visible residual linear marks that often remain hidden within the very loose skin of the eyelid regions. This technique, which takes only minutes to perform under local anesthesia, involves no scalpel cutting nor stitches and heals quite rapidly in only a few days. Small deposits may also be removed by scissor removal, with the resulting wound left to heal without stitches. Simple electrocautery and scissor removal can be combined, if necessary. In most cases, only one treatment is enough to yield gratifying results. However, additional treatment may be needed if residual fatty deposits remain. Consultation with a board certified aesthetic core physician is recommended.

Answer: Cholesterol deposits on eyelids I have dealt with this problem several times and the solution is typically a blepharoplasty (removal of upper eyelid skin) that includes the area affected by the problem. A fractional CO2 laser is also helpful if all of the skin cannot be removed, pending the size. If you would upload a photograph I can make a better assessment. Thanks!

Answer: Treatment of cholesterol deposits in eyelids You are most likely describing xanthelasma, benign growths that have a waxy-yellow color. The best treatment for this condition is surgical excision. That is to say there are no laser treatments that have been found to be consistently effective in the treatment of this condition. Treatment of this condition is typically not covered by insurance as it is of cosmetic concern only; there is no danger associated with this condition. Unfortunately I do not know if there are any doctors in your area who have expertise in treating this condition.

Answer: Cholesterol deposits from my eyelids. Either Surgery or Laser will work. It depends on how big they are and how much of extra loose skin you have.Typically these occur in the eyelid skin closer to the nose and hence removal of too much skin can affect your eyelid closure. So it is important you chose your Surgeon well. These are due to internal causes in either fat or cholesterol metabolism and your Physician can help you by running some lab tests and recommending some medications. Otherwise these tend to recur in the same place. All the best
