Removing tapes after eyelid surgery: Can it be removed after 4 days?

Having said that, some surgeons use the tape to retain the sutures.  Please do not remove these on your own.  Call your surgeon and let them know that the tape is really bothering you, can it be removed.  With any luck they will bring you in and remove the tape.  Doing this on your own cold cause the suture to come out too early.

Thank you for your question.  It is not typical to tape the eyelids.  However, it is not unusual to have steri strips placed over the ends of the sutures.  The steri strips are there to hold the sutures in place and keeps them from being pulled on or bothering your eyes. I would recommend that you discuss this with your surgeon before attempting to remove them.  Best of Luck to you.

Some tape may be used to hold the sutures in place or to keep support of the lower lid. Hard to say without seeing you, and really best for you to ask your surgeon the right answer.
