Can you transform down turned eyes into upturned eyes?

Question

My eyes any down and the corner of the upper eyelid droops down making the out corners of my eyes a bit lower than my inner corners and when I smile my eyes tend to slant down is there a way to fix this and make my eyes upturned. If so what procedures should I consider?

Lateral canthoplasty rarely has the ability to transform the appearance of the outer corner of the eyes.  Simply raising the outer corner of where the upper and lower eyelids meet does not address the issue.  For some individuals forehead, eyelid, and mid face surgery may be needed.  Bottom line, there is no substitute for a personal consultation.

It is called mongloid eyelid slants. Yes, it can be improved by performing lateral canthoplasty to make eyes more almond shaped. But it is important to note that usually it also require lower eyelid support or lift in order to prevent the lateral canthus from being pulled down again.  See an oculoplastic surgeon.

A properly performed lateral canthoplasty with proper re-attachment of the canthal ligament to the orbital bone can pull the outer corner of the eyelid upward.  If you have additional problems such as brow ptosis and sagging of the cheek tissues additional procedures may be necessary. Please be sure to see a board certified plastic surgeon with experience of oculoplastic surgery.
