Dear pmytides, The decreased sense of smell and taste is usually related to still being swollen after surgery. The swelling tends to improve around 3 weeks post op. Every patient is different and it is important to remember to wait 6 months to a year to judge your final result, but I would think so I would think taste and smell will return around then 3 to 4 weeks post op.
