Telangiectatic matting - those very very tiny veins that are seen in the areas where sclerotherapy or cosmetic topical laser work is done is common and in published literature goes away within a year. If there are large veins that are visible visually or seen by ultrasound (venous Doppler Ultrasound, also known as venous Duplex scan), then they must be treated before you get additional treatments. This diagnoses the 'feeder' veins because what you are seeing visually with your eyes are the 'tips of the iceberg' and there are leaking veins under the skin that must be injected with ultrasound guided techniques (ultrasound guided foam sclerotherapy) or with EVLT (endovenous ablation of perforator veins). Contact a specialist who has added certification from the American Board of Venous and Lymphatic Medicine.Our offices specialize in all treatments for venous disease including EVLT Never Touch, VNUS Closure, ClariVein, US guided foam sclerotherapy, traditional sclerotherapy, topical cosmetic laser therapy and microphlebectomy. 

It is not uncommon for sclerotherapy to require several sessions to achieve a result.  However, if veins worsen after treatment or if more veins recur quickly after the treatments, then you need to consider that there may be an underlying malfunctioning (refluxing) valve problem as the cause of your veins (even if they are only spiders).  You should see a vein specialist for a full venous evaluation including a venous reflux examination.
