Can Sculptra and PRP treatments be done at the same time? Should they be done separately? If so, how long apart (i.e. weeks or months apart) and which treatment should be administered first? If the treatments are done at the same time, can I still massage the Sculptra treated area without diminishing the effect of PRP?

Answer: Sculptra blows away PRP Having seen lots of patients who have undergone both treatments, I can assure you that Sculptra it's a much better investment and much more reliable way to replace volume. The results of PRP are so variable that a significant percent patients will complain that nothing happened. Go ahead and look online for reviews, but the results can be disappointing with PRP. Meanwhile Sculptra has a very solid record of success. A better combination of products would be a series of Sculptra treatments to stimulate collagen production followed by a hyaluronic acid filler of choice. Best of luck

Answer: Combining Sculptra with PRP I frequently combine Sculptra injections with the use of topical serums to stimulate new collagen and elastic fibers in the skin. Sculptra works beneath the skin to generate more volume while other treatments such as platelet rich plasma (PRP) have their effect in the skin so the treatments work together to improve your overall appearance. PRP contains growth factors and cytokines that have been proven in numerous peer-reviewed studies to be extremely effective in reducing fine lines and wrinkles on the face. However, there are now much better products to use than PRP because PRP is strongly pro-inflammatory (not good). For the most consistent results, I recommend using a growth factor serum made from human stem cells rather than platelet rich plasma. We have had a great deal of success using this treatment combination in our office.
