Any experienced plastic surgeon will confirmthat there is no one-size-fits-all approach to rhinoplasty. Each nose isconformed on a case-by-case basis and is designed to fit the patient’s specificwants and needs. Though looking through before and after photos of pastpatients can give you a better understanding of what to expect from yourdoctor’s work, your surgeon should work diligently to ensure that your nose isre-constructed tastefully and naturally with your particular facialcharacteristics in mind. “Choosing the right nose” is something that you andyour surgeon will work together to enact.
Many surgeons use imaging to make sure that your goals and theirs are in-line. My imaging is very close to the actual results as it will be with most experienced rhinoplasty surgeons. I won't operate on a patient uunless they are happy with the projected results. A confident surgeon will stand by his imaging and his work.
Contrary to the perception of some, you do not get to pick the nose you want from rhinoplasty. Rather all that can be achieved is to make the best changes with the nasal anatomy that you have. An experienced rhinoplasty surgeon can use computer imaging to show you realistic rhinoplasty results.
I do not like the imaging software of this, because I think it can give a false sense of results. It does not take into consideration the underlying anatomy, the thickness of the tissues, or the healing properties of the patient.
The fact is you don't have that many options or choices as far as the type of nose. Getting a rhinoplasty isn't like picking paint color at Home Depot or rearranging your bedroom furniture. Usually there is only one type of nose that fits your face. But you can give hint and guidance to your surgeon as far as what "type" of nose you like: i.e. "Cute" "Natural" or "in between". You can't pick a precise outcome or shape. Rather put your effort into choosing the right surgeon. The right surgeon will guide you in the right path and use computer imaging to help you understand what nose fits your face best but more importantly WHAT NOSE IS ACTUALLY POSSIBLE. These are important facts. Now based on your picture on your profile I see a beautiful face with a boxy tip and while it's hard to tell from your one small image perhaps an asymmetric dorsal hump and correcting these is best. Depending on your height I prefer a nose in between cute and natural for you. Choose wisely.
There are multiple mobile applications and desktop applications for computer imaging, whereby patients can upload their own photo and do their own morphing to see what their new nose might look like on their face. In our practice, we use Face Touch Up, which is embedded on our website, on the link below. Computer imaging performed in the office setting at the time of the consultation is also a great communication tool between the patient and the surgeon to be able to understand what can and cannot be accomplished with a rhinoplasty procedure upon your facial features.
The doctor may have a simulator like photoshop, which, he can manipulate your nose. However he has to understand the properties of your nose and not simulate things that cannot be reasonably done. You should see his or her portfolio of surgical cases and see what his or her skills are
Better quality pics and side views are necessary.Sunken nasal bones are treated with onlay grafts taken from the auricular concha or even ribs.
I see your concern. You are still in the early stages of healing, and I am sure you are very swollen. Follow up with your Plastic Surgeon so that he can monitor your progress. Hopefully, everything will settle down soon.
I can understand your frustration. How many Kenalog injections have you had? From your pictures it seems like there is some steroid induced changes in your nasal skin, such as new blood vessels forming. I think you should see your surgeon and discuss this issue. Laser is...
