Can the zygomatic bone be moved forward?

Is there some procedure to move forward the whole Zygomatic bone to give forward projection thorough some kind of osteotomy? Are implants the only solution? About the zygomatic process/arch can it be moved down a bit?

Thank you for your question. Without an exam, it can be hard to give you specific advice. It depends on exactly what you are interested in and what the problem is. There are surgical methods to move the maxilla, but this is often reserved for reconstructive purposes rather than cosmetic ones as it requires significant effort and risk. For cosmetic cases, other methods such as fat grafting or implants are often able to achieve similar results without the additional risk. The zygomatic bone can not be moved forward, only an implant can provide forward projection. Osteotomies to the zygoma can create changes in width but not changes in anteroposterior projection.
