Surgery 2 months ago, vertical inner thigh lift, long I ncision, one leg in the end of incision where the drain tube was, has a dent inside. Feels like poking from the inside and it hurts a bit. The other leg doesn’t have it. Why did that happen and will it improve with time? Is there something I can do to make it better? Thank you kindly for your professional opinion?
Answer: Incisions Whenever you have a small incision I always recommend you massage the area, get the blood flow moving through the scar tissue, second i recommend silicon sheeting to help minimize the appearance of the scar. PRP onto the incision also helps tremendously.

Answer: Options for Fixing an Indentation After a Thigh Lift Hello MIAVTA in Florida. Thank you for your question regarding what can be done to fix an incision after a thigh lift. Thank you for your history and your pictures. There are several options regarding your postoperative inner thigh lift situation. First, you can wait and allow this to heal with time, as some indentations may improve naturally over several months. Deep tissue massage can also help break up the inner thigh lift scar tissue, promoting smoother healing. Alternatively, you can consider steroid injections or injections of 5FU or Kenalog, which can help to break up the thigh scar. You may need several rounds of these injections before achieving optimal results. If the indentation persists, you can consider a thigh lift scar revision or even injection of fat into the indentation. Usually, fat is harvested from your belly area and then transferred to the area of indentation. Another option is to consider fillers like Juvederm and Restylane. However, these fillers typically last for about six to eight months, whereas using your own fat should provide longer-lasting results. All these procedures can be done under local anesthesia in the office. Please seek a board-certified plastic surgeon to discuss these options in detail and determine the best course of action for your specific situation. Sincerely, J. Timothy Katzen, MD, FASMBS, FICS

Answer: Thigh lift incision Hello and thank you for your question. The best advice you can receive is from an in-person consultation. Based on your photographs, you may benefit from a surgical scar revision of your thigh lift. This decision should be based on a detailed discussion with equal input from both you and your surgeon. Make sure you specifically look at before and after pictures of real patients who have had this surgery performed by your surgeon and evaluate their results. Best wishes and good luck. Richard G. Reish, M.D. FACS Harvard-trained plastic surgeon

Answer: Thigh lift all post surgery scars change for at least 12 months. so this is not the final appearance. Meanwhile you can follow the scar care protocol of your PS. Hopefully the tethered scar will release and smoothen out over several months. best wishes
