If it’s just a local anesthesia, is there any reason I can’t drive myself home afterwards? I don’t want to make a big production out of the entire affair by having my husband also take the day off work. Or at least take public transportation?

Answer: Depends on what 'local anesthesia' entails Hi! Thanks for your question! To echo some of the others below, it depends on what comprises local anesthesia. If it is just straight local injections with no other medication (usually oral), you should be okay, however some people tend to get a little shaky post-op. If a Valium or oral pain killer is taken, definitely don't drive. With regards to public transportation, be mindful that many doctors use quite a bit of tumescent which can lead to some wet clean-up. With enough bandages around your insertion sites such as ABD pads, this should be manageable but it can be awkward. Perhaps try for an Uber over the subway for example ).Best of luck!

Answer: Body Tite post op transportation Thank you for your question. The short answer is, it depends. Often times when procedures are done under local anesthesia, an oral anti-anxiety and or pain medication is given. This will not put you to sleep but may make you feel loopy. In addition, if any liposuction is done at the time of the Body Tite, you could have some drainage. Because of this, public transportation may be challenging. Often times our patients will take Uber or Lyft if they don't have a ride. I hope this helps!
