How do I improve the red to brown spots on my skin after BodyTite from insertion points?

I had bodytite and now have small brown to red marks on my abdomen and thighs, where the device went into the skin. I have tried hydroquinone, Retin-A and steroid cream. It has been 6 months and they are still there. No exposure to sun. Any suggestions?

Hello. Great question. Pictures will help to provide a better evaluation. It might be due to a hyperpigmentation of the skin. Persons with darker skin tend to have a more noticeable scar. If that is the case, I will suggest waiting a few more months for the scar to fade away. However, if you want immediate treatment, I suggest consulting with your surgeon as he knows you best. If concerns persist, please contact a board certified plastic surgeon.

Thank you for this question. These scars from the insertion of the body tite hand piece should fade with time. However, if they are easily visible and not improving, you can have them surgically revised. Keep in mind that the healing process will begin again and it may be a few more months before they fade out.

These spots can be improved with a combination of Cosmelan, lasers, Aerolase, microneedling/prp, skin lightening, peels, and skin care. Sun protection is essential. I recommend getting a formal evaluation with a cosmetic dermatologist. Best, Dr. Emer

Thank you for your question. Hyperpigmentation, or increased color after treatments will fade over time. It can a significant amount of time for the color to completely go away. Keep it completely out of the sun. You can try IPL treatments but patience is your best option. Good luck.

Thanks for your question! Many of our patients have had good outcomes using Intense Pulsed Light or IPL - we offer it as a post-surgery options for scarring on various procedures. However, it will depend upon your skin type. There are also topical options such as Silagen or Strataderm by Stratpharma. Best of luck!

of lasers including cynergy, alexandrite, aerloase and Fractional CO2. You
